Acupuncture has been used for thousands of years to treat just about any ailment. It works by regulating the body on a very basic level. Each of over 400 points on the body has a specific function. Your points are chosen according to what organ systems are out of balance.

In China, acupuncture is done in a group setting. People sit or lie in a large room and the acupuncturist goes around and diagnoses and treats them. Most of the acupuncture points are from the knees down and the elbows down.

In America, we have had a completely different system. We have private rooms for each patient. You lie in your room for 20-30 minutes and the acupuncturist comes back and removes the needles when your treatment is over.

Needless to say, having a private room set aside for you for 30 minutes is very expensive. It is often hard for the average acupuncturist to make ends meet when a patient has to pay $65 or more for each treatment and they need to come in twice per week for a month at least.

There is an answer to this problem, Community Acupuncture. In Community Acupuncture your treatment is given just like it is in China. You sit in a shared room. You often sit in a recliner in a circular fashion. You will get the exact same quality of treatment as in the private room, but you can pay a lot less because a room is not allocated to you for 30 minutes.

Most patients need to get a series of treatments for acupuncture to be effective. You often will feel better after your first session, but you will need to get care for a certain period of time to address the underlying health issues. You want to be able to completely treat the underlying health issues so the symptoms do not come back.

Most Community Acupuncture clinics charge from $20 to $40 per session. This enables most people to afford natural health care.
